Choosing a Crossfade length
A short overlap can soften abrupt changes; a long overlap can cut vocals or important endings. Start low and test with the playlist you actually use.
Spotify may limit Crossfade on certain Connect playback paths, and controls differ by device.
When Gapless Playback matters
Gapless is intended for recordings whose tracks naturally continue without silence, including live albums and some classical or concept albums.
It does not remix the songs or match beats; it simply avoids an artificial pause where supported.
What Automix does
Automix is available on selected Spotify playlists and can use transitions such as crossfading, beat matching or skipping to suitable sections.
If a playlist sounds over-mixed, disable Automix or Crossfade and replay the transition to identify which setting caused it.
